Marseille, Aix en Provence & Lubéron Region - Full Day Tour

Departing from your hotel, your expert driver guide will drive you to visit Marseille, the oldest French city, the second largest city after Paris and French largest port. You will discover a rich architecture in a city known for its narrow stepped streets with the Old Port and its fortification : le Fort St Jean and St Nicolas from the 12th century, the St Victor Abbey founded in the 5th Century, the harbor renowned for its fish market and the Basilica "Notre Dame de la Garde" with its amazing 360° panoramic view over Marseille. Aix-en-Provence, the old capital of Provence, was founded by the Romans in 103 BC. The city is graced with 17th – 18th century town houses, narrow streets, quiet squares, arcades and fountains. Aix was called the "city of thousand fountains" and you will discover several of the most beautiful ones on the Cours Mirabeau. The Old Town is centered around the Place "de l’Hôtel de Ville" which is one of the most charming square in Provence. There, you will also discover the Cathedral and Archbishop's Palace (the Decorative Arts Museum). You will end the day with a visit of the Lubéron region. There, you will discover a spectacular countryside with classified villages. You'll first stop at the Fountain of Vaucluse and enjoy a magnificent spectacle. Then, you will discover beautiful villages such as Gordes perched on a hill-top with its stone houses, and the Roussillon village, famed for its distinctive red-ochre color.
