Only 45 minutes away from Paris, the Château de Chantilly, built in the Renaissance style stands in the middle of a lake. Part of the finest jewels of the crown of France's cultural heritage, the place is linked to a man with an extraordinary destiny : Henri d'Orléans, Duke of Aumale, the last King of France. Your driver guide will show you the state apartments, decorated with fine wood paneling and valuable 18th-century furniture. You will also visit the Musée de Condé featuring works by Raphael, Delacroix and Poussin. You will then visit the Great Stables, an 18th century masterpiece designed by architect Jean Aubert, at the request of Louis Henri de Bourbon, who believed that he would be reincarnated as a horse. Visit will continue with the Horse museum. Twice a day there are dressage demonstrations at the equestrian theater, within the building. You will also enjoy the park and its gardens which include an elegant French garden designed by André le Nôtre and a poetic English garden designed by Victor Dubois. Lunch suggested at a nice auberge, in the Chantilly area. After lunch, your driver guide will drive you to Auvers-sur-Oise to visit the village. A stroll through the village will allow you to discover the Ravoux Inn, that Van Gogh made famous by lodging there during the last months of his life and the wonderful landscapes that made the village famous. You will then visit the Auvers-sur-Oise Castle. Built around 1635 by Zanobi Lioni a rich Italian close to Marie de Médicis, you will enjoy the "Voyage au temps des Impressionistes" (Journey back to the Impressionists time) show which pays tribute to the painters who marked the Oise river valley.
